SDPC - Daniel High School and Edwards Middle School Athletic Director Job Expectations High School AD General Expectations

230 Day Contract – paid on an administrative pay scale– Annual Salary $102,742. Must be certified in a secondary content area and master’s degree preferred Strong analytical, administrative, and multitasking skills. No required assigned teaching duties - 90 minutes per week at Middle School in addition to High School AD/Administrative responsibilities. Athletic Director may not serve as a head coach of a sport Member of the School Leadership Team – Principal will provide guidance on day-to-day administrative tasks that are apart from general athletic duties. (Safety, Duties, Student Attendance, Graduation, Community and Business Outreach, etc.) Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal. High School and Middle School Athletics Expectations-Overall Goal – Create Program Alignment Between the Middle School and High School

Administer guidance for sports programming both at the High School and Middle School. Middle School visits at least twice a week for a total of 90 Minutes. Visits should include communication with the Principal and point of contact for Middle School Athletics. Confer with coaches at both schools to establish league schedules, travel arrangements, events, and practice schedules. Select, recruit, and oversee coaching staff at both levels in coordination and with approval from principals. Establish a way to evaluate and make recommendations for dismissing and hiring of coaches. Maintain orderly, clean, and safe facilities and equipment. Generate and file team statistics promptly. Coordinate compilation and publication of team/individual stats during and at conclusion of season– Football statistics for each game should be given to leadership each week. Comply with school, NCAA, and other association rules. Discuss and maintain student eligibility with school administrators. Develop and regulate budgets and appropriate spending for equipment, facilities, salaries, referees/umpires, and more. High school AD will be responsible for establishing one contract to purchase uniforms, practice gear, etc. Contract will create unity and program alignment. Serve as liaison to community organizations in regards to athletics along with coordination with corporate and business partners. Develop and oversee plans and philosophy for athletics fundraising. Create partnerships with the youth programs in your area in order to create alignment and excitement about middle school and high school athletics. Ensure Grade 7-12 program alignment in regards to strength & conditioning program, high school and college eligibility, and the college recruitment process Responsible for the orientation of all coaches regarding site and district policies, procedures and expectations; and ensures that all coaches comply with SDPC rules and procedures. Ensure the school is in compliance with Title IX. Coordinates athletic banquets, college signings, letters of recommendation, and keeps a record of student accolades. (All-State, All-Region, Lettermen, school and state records, college/university signees, Hall of Fame, etc). Manage assistant athletic directors and delegate appropriate tasks and expectations. Expectations Related to Student Safety

Work with the Athletic Trainer to meet all safety requirements regarding physical exam procedures to ensure that all participants have an up to date physical exam on file. Procedures for baseline concussion screening, concussion education, communication, and training with athletes and coaches. Serve as a member of the school leadership team with a focus on school safety and emergency preparedness for all athletic events and venues. Ensure all coaches are trained in the plans.
