Director, Structured Finance A growing energy infrastructure platform is seeking a
Director, Structured Finance
to lead complex energy project finance transactions and support continued growth as a leader in energy finance. The ideal candidate will structure and execute transactions that raise
billions of dollars in third-party capital annually
to bring clean energy projects to the grid. This role requires deep experience in renewable energy project finance, strong financial modeling capabilities, and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
The Director will report to the
Managing Director, Capital Markets
and work closely with the capital markets, structured finance, and portfolio finance teams, as well as internal development, energy markets, legal, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities Originate, structure, and execute project finance transactions supporting the development, construction, and operation of
solar, battery storage, thermal, and digital infrastructure projects
in the U.S.
Lead financings, including
development/corporate loan facilities, tax equity partnerships, tax credit transfer transactions, construction loans, and term loans .
Manage internal teams, external advisors, and transaction counsel throughout financing processes.
Own and maintain financing models, prepare internal approval materials, and evaluate transaction risks.
Coordinate responses to investor and lender due diligence requests across development, engineering, and legal teams.
Develop and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, and financial partners across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
Support negotiations of key project agreements, including
equipment supply agreements, PPAs, interconnection agreements, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements .
Ensure transactions are executed efficiently and accurately while managing competing deadlines.
What We Look For Proven transaction experience in
energy or infrastructure project finance , ideally within a developer, operating company, private equity firm, management consulting firm, or investment bank.
Strong understanding of
tax equity structures, partnership tax principles, debt facilities, and equity transactions .
Advanced experience in building, auditing, and maintaining
Excel-based project finance models .
Experience reviewing and negotiating legal documentation related to tax equity and debt transactions.
Experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional project teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior management and investors.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of
energy project development, utilities, interconnection, permitting, power markets, and renewable energy technologies .
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities.
Strong work ethic, integrity, and problem-solving capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications 5–10+ years of experience
in energy or infrastructure project finance, including closing
tax equity transactions .
Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Accounting, or related field
(MBA or CFA preferred).
Strong understanding of energy markets, renewable technologies, and project finance structures.
Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint .
Experience with
project management software
is a plus.
Ability to work in a hybrid office environment within the United States.
Ability to travel up to
25%,
depending on transaction activity.
