The Consumer Outbound Lending Consultant is responsible for generating a high volume of consumer loans through proactive outbound calling and relationship-building with new and existing members. The role includes educating members on financial solutions and cross selling products that support their financial well being.
What you’ll be doing
Provide superior member service consistent with the credit union’s mission, vision, and values. Examine, evaluate, and use independent judgment to recommend decisioning on consumer loan and credit card applications. Conduct outbound outreach to build member relationships by identifying needs and presenting Dupaco products and services. Meet or exceed established standards for member plan participation, including GAP/DPW, MBP, Loan Payment Protection, and VPP, to support individual, departmental, and organizational goals. Maintain a working knowledge of Consumer Lending federal regulations, policies, and procedures. Maintain a solid understanding of Dupaco’s consumer loan policies and serve as a resource to other lenders on loan structuring and lending solutions. Analyze applicant financial status, credit history, and collateral to determine loan feasibility. Display comprehensive knowledge of credit union products and services. Prepare complete and accurate loan packages, and negotiate loan terms—including fees, repayment options, and credit structure—with applicants. Review, process, and ensure all loan documentation complies with policy and regulatory requirements. Determine eligibility for membership and establish new member accounts to foster long-term relationships. Initiate Money Makeovers and Credit History Lessons where beneficial to members. Perform other duties as assigned. You’ll need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 1+ years of consumer lending or related experience. Ability to analyze situations, exercise judgement, and make educated decisions. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Must be a self-starter with high energy and motivation. Positive energy, openness to coaching and feedback. Qualifications
