Overview

This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Youth Programming Director develops, organizes, and implements high-quality youth and teen programming that drives participation, strengthens member engagement, and advances the YMCA’s mission. This role is responsible for growing and expanding youth signature programming and ensuring program quality, retention, and measurable community impact. The Youth Programming Director understands that program participation and membership growth go hand in hand, and works to create engaging pathways that connect youth and families to the YMCA. The Youth Programming Director oversees youth sports, youth and teen enrichment programs (including but not limited to Home School Power Hour, Basketball, Gymnastics/Tumbling, TKD, Volleyball, Park and Play), and provides management and oversight of the Impact Center and Teen Engagement initiative, along with food service and meal distribution programs. Responsibilities

Develops, organizes, and implements high-quality youth and teen programming that drives participation, strengthens member engagement, and advances the YMCA’s mission. Growing and expanding youth signature programming and ensuring program quality, retention, and measurable community impact. Creates engaging pathways that connect youth and families to the YMCA to support both program participation and membership growth. Oversees youth sports, youth and teen enrichment programs (including but not limited to Home School Power Hour, Basketball, Gymnastics/Tumbling, TKD, Volleyball, Park and Play). Provides management and oversight of the Impact Center and Teen Engagement initiative, along with food service and meal distribution programs. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent. One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of child care programs. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards (if any) and completion of YMCA program specific certifications (list). Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
