Director Of Development, Midwest Region

– Catholic Extension Society, Chicago, Illinois The Director of Development for the Midwest Region leads major gifts activity and collaborates with senior colleagues to advance Catholic Extension Society’s fundraising presence in the Midwest, including Missouri, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Chicago and its suburbs. A second Director of Development shares responsibility for Chicago and other Illinois areas outside Chicago. Responsibilities

Collaborate with colleagues in senior administration and the Development Department to grow major gift activity in the Midwest Region. Lead and implement strategies to move donors from cultivation to solicitation and stewardship, with a focus on gifts in the five-figure range and above. Manage fundraising activities within a defined Midwest territory or broad regional scope, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts. Develop knowledge of and access to major philanthropic communities in Chicago and the Midwest; leverage networks to support fundraising goals. Extract and analyze donor data to inform strategy and decision making; familiarity with modern data management is preferred. Identify, nurture, and motivate volunteers as part of building an effective fundraising network. Travel up to 40% of the time. Qualifications

Minimum of eight years of post-college work experience, with at least six years of frontline major gifts fundraising experience, including gifts of five figures and above from defined and undefined constituencies, and experience in cultivation through closing and stewardship. Experience managing a fundraising territory for a mid- to large-size nonprofit is preferred. Ability to think strategically about donor development and solicitations aligned with organizational priorities. Significant knowledge of major philanthropic communities in Chicago and the Midwest, with demonstrated fundraising success and the ability to access related social networks. Ability to extract and analyze data to inform donor strategy and process; working knowledge of modern data management is preferred. Experience identifying, nurturing, and motivating volunteers. Ability to travel up to 40% of the time. Location & Additional Details
