The Lock Desk associate is responsible for managing mortgage rate locks and ensuring accurate pricing throughout the loan process. Each day, they review and process lock requests from loan officers, confirm eligibility and pricing using tools like Optimal Blue, and commit loans to investors under Best Efforts delivery terms. They monitor lock expirations, handle extensions, and maintain compliance with investor guidelines and company policies. Additionally, they communicate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, support Non-QM loan scenarios, and keep detailed records to ensure smooth secondary market transactions.
