Alternatives Capital Formation (ACF) is a part of the Client Solutions Group (CSG) within Asset & Wealth Management (AWM). ACF manages capital raising and strategy for alternatives investments across the full spectrum of alternatives including private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, growth equity, sustainability, secondaries, GP stakes, and hedge funds / liquid alternatives. Within ACF, team members work within product verticals and collaborate across alternatives strategies to identify portfolio-wide solutions. They also partner with other teams within ACF, and across CSG, investing teams and wealth management teams. Professional development initiatives provide opportunities to enhance expertise across all alternative investment products, and to sharpen market knowledge from industry experts investing across the Firm. This specific role sits with ACF Private Credit Senior Direct Lending.
Individual would be responsible for helping to drive commercial strategy, capital formation & client engagement initiatives across senior direct lending strategies. This involves working in partnership with the Sales team to build and deepen client relationships through delivering market insights and product expertise across regions and client channels. Additional responsibilities include ability to:
Effectively articulate to internal and external stakeholders the nuances of our private credit strategies and the suitability to various investors’ portfolios
Collaborate with stakeholders across ACF, Sales and the firm to execute go-to-market strategies for our private credit strategies globally, working with Sales to define target investor base(s), build plans of engagement, strategize around roadblocks, and coordinate on annual meeting preparation and conferences/events
Lead development of marketing content and define strategic direction for funds/products in market
Lead and direct client due diligence processes, from initial engagement to legal documentation and negotiations; involves close collaboration with legal colleagues to drive terms and manage side-letter negotiations
Development of strategic proposals for institutional clients across multiple strategies and partnership proposals alongside of flagship fundraises
Frequent client engagement / meetings, and with regular business travel
As a senior member of the team, work closely with junior members of the team and would be expected to help guide / direct response to various client inquiries, including due diligence requests, participation in RFPs, performance and data analyses, ongoing reporting, and requests for portfolio updates, amongst other ad hoc client requests and projects
Coordinate closely with investment team and other internal stakeholders such as legal, risk management, operations, compliance, controllers and tax in order to effectively respond to inbound investor requests and inquiries
Effectively articulate the role of senior direct lending and broader private credit strategies within an investor's portfolio and explain to internal and external stakeholders the investment strategy
Respond to questions internally from senior management and sales channels related to our private credit offerings and client demand and trends across the region
Qualifications
8 to 10 years in a similar or related role within private markets fundraising and investor relations
Demonstrating a solutions-oriented mindset and versatility across a range of topics
Excellent communication (written and oral), analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong relationship building skills, for use with both clients and internal stakeholders
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead global private credit discussions and manage existing investor relations
Strong organizational skills and ability to step in and lead on an wide range of deliverables, with a high quality of work within tight timeframes, often including multiple simultaneous projects
Attention to detail—proven experience of delivering high levels of accuracy
Experience managing and mentoring junior members of team; willingness to contribute to and foster a positive and motivating team environment
Candidate must be a team player and self-motivated, demonstrating a willingness to take on more responsibility over time
Salary Range The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$290000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
