A global freight forwarder is seeking an Ocean Export Freight specialist in the Plano area. They are seeking a team player with 5+ years of freight forwarding experience.
FLSA: Exempt
Type: Hybrid 3 days a week on site
Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day freight forwarding operations (import/export)
Lead, train, and manage a team of forwarding specialists
Oversee shipment coordination, documentation accuracy, and regulatory compliance
Resolve escalations and complex logistics issues
Review and approve freight rates and monitor cost efficiency
Ensure SOP adherence and continuous process improvement
Manage vendor, carrier, and overseas agent relationships
Oversee billing accuracy and support margin tracking
Conduct performance reviews and support team development
Qualifications
5+ years of freight forwarding domestic and international
Cargowise experience
Excel experience
Strong knowledge of air/ocean/ground transportation documentation
Familiarity with global trade regulations
Japanese language proficiency is very helpful in this position
BA or equivalent experience preferred
Team leadership and relationship management skill
