NANA SHAREHOLDER COLLEGE INTERNSHIP - NANA Regional Marketing & Communications I

The selected intern will work for NANA's Communications department, contributing to high-quality projects related to communication, shareholder communications and media relations. The internship is based in Anchorage, AK. The NANA Shareholder College Internship is a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. NANA will provide lodging and transportation for applicants outside the Anchorage/Matsu Valley area. Internships run from June to August with flexibility based on availability. Applications accepted until April 30, but interviews occur as soon as viable candidates are identified. This role may close prior to the deadline.
Internship Schedule June – August (full-time, 40 hours per week).
Responsibilities
Assist with creating content for social media.
Write for NANA publications including The Hunter and social media.
Work under supervision to plan events.
Work under direction to help maintain the digital inventory.
Learn and deploy skills related to introductory graphic design tools (Adobe Express, Premiere Pro, other Adobe Creative Suite applications).
Assist with intern interviews including videography and video editing.
Qualifications
Applicants must be a shareholder of NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., or a direct descendant of a shareholder. In accordance with NANA's Shareholder Preference Hiring Policy, priority will be given to NANA shareholders first, followed by shareholder descendants.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational school full-time and have completed one semester of postsecondary education.
Proficient written communication skills: write, edit, proofread materials.
Proficient oral communication skills: speak one-on-one or present to groups.
Must be able to work in a fast-moving environment and juggle multiple, competing tasks, and able to lift 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate is studying Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Computer Programming, Web Development or Business.
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NANA’s vehicle insurance policy.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather:
Indoors – environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.
Noise level:
Standard office atmosphere.
Environment:
Office building with standard office environment.
Physical requirements:
Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
