
Social Media Coordinator

We're seeking a detail-oriented Social Media Coordinator to join our team on a temporary basis. This is a direct report position to the Assistant Director of Social Media, who will provide guidance, feedback, and oversight on all social media activities. You'll play a key role in maintaining our daily social media presence across multiple platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and execute daily posting across X (Twitter), Threads, and Bluesky
Coordinate occasional posts on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
Upload and publish YouTube Shorts
Schedule and publish content using Sprout Social
Ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across all platforms
Monitor post performance and engagement metrics
Collaborate with the social media team to maintain content calendars
Contribute to post-level strategy, including copy direction, timing, and format decisions
Report regularly to the Assistant Director of Social Media on posting schedules and performance
Required Qualifications
Proven experience managing multiple social media platforms
Strong proficiency in Sprout Social (required)
Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction effectively
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Understanding of platform-specific best practices and audience engagement
Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with supervisor
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education, business, or professional services sectors
Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting
Work Environment This is a hybrid, contracted position with the ability to work remotely. The initial contract is for 3 months, with the option to extend at the 3-month mark. Hours are approximately 3–4 hours per day (15–20 hours per week), and the pay rate is $25–$35 per hour. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and responsive to feedback while maintaining close communication with their direct supervisor.
