Your Role: Reporting to the Director of Operational Excellence, this role supports the design and execution of site‑level and cross‑functional improvement initiatives. The Operational Excellence Lead partners with departmental heads to map end‑to‑end processes, diagnose operational bottlenecks, conduct stakeholder interviews, and implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive measurable improvements in quality, service, and cost competitiveness. This role will support Avid’s culture for continued rapid growth with the desire to create value, agility, and speed to serve customers and internal stakeholders with an unyielding commitment to quality. This role will accelerate business impact through development and execution of Operational Excellence projects and build capability by coaching and developing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Working alongside the Head of Operational Excellence and functional leaders to identify operational bottlenecks in critical processes to meet business objectives.

Provide hand‑on utilization of LEAN principles and tools for daily improvement and executing prioritized projects that will have a positive impact on business results.

Develop and maintain KPIs for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and efficiency improvements that drive external and internal customer satisfaction.

Map current state processes leveraging Value‑Stream Mapping and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and document future‑state processes.

Champion utilization of digital tools and data analytics for optimizing processes and enabling systematic data‑driven performance monitoring for value impact.

Lead high‑visibility continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma (LSS), project management, and change management methodologies.

Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to support investigation of deviations, Out of Specification (OOS) results, and CAPAs to prevent recurrence.

Deploy Lean strategies to improve workflows for testing, documentation, systems, and SLAs with support functions while maintaining strict cGMP compliance.

Support preparation and facilitation of Kaizen events.

Contribute to deepening LEAN knowledge, skills, and abilities of functions so they can incorporate LEAN principles and tools into their day‑to‑day processes.

Required Education and Experience:

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or other equivalent related field.

5 years minimum proven track record of hands‑on process improvements across biomanufacturing site functions such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and/or Quality

Formal Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt required).

Knowledge of GMP and regulatory compliance requirements.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools.

Effective communication and facilitation skills for engaging and working with stakeholders at all levels.

Familiarity with change management principles and ability to influence organizational adoption.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio).

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt) preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Lists and Smartsheet

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This role is a full‑time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM unless otherwise stated by Supervisor. The employee must also, if instructed, have the ability to work overtime and/or weekends when necessary.

Compensation: We offer competitive compensation packages for this role, including a base salary, performance‑based bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off. The compensation range for this role is $121,600 - $136,800 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
