Overview Position Summary

The Operations Strategy & Data Analysis team partners with JetBlue’s operating groups to translate data into actionable insights that drive continuous improvement on performance, reliability, and efficiency across JetBlue’s network. The team leads both recurring performance reporting and high-impact analytical initiatives, leveraging rich internal and external datasets to uncover trends and patterns, identify root causes, and eliminate operational bottlenecks. The Analyst plays a critical role in advancing those initiatives through rigorous analysis and will design, develop, and own analytical tools and models that support statistical analysis, root cause investigations, and predictive insights. The ideal candidate brings a passion for aviation and a strong understanding of airline operations, particularly operational reliability. They possess strong problem-solving capabilities, good quantitative skills, and the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable narratives for cross-functional stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence without authority across teams are essential.

Essential Responsibilities

Analyze JetBlue operational performance, assess potential constraints and work with relevant stakeholder teams on action items to improve baseline

Perform deep dive into the rich data from both internal and external sources

Produce and ensure accuracy of monthly reporting for various internal teams; create automated reports and dashboards with operational data

Analyze and propose strategy for JetBlue operational reliability

Work with operating groups to determine requirements/buffers that would set them up for reliable performance and analyze (opportunity) cost/trade-offs of those

Actively review JetBlue’s schedules to ensure agreed criteria are provided and look for opportunities to improve performance

Perform ad hoc operability-related projects in support of senior leadership

Build relationships with operational partners across the system

Support other teams including all operational divisions, Airline Planning and Finance

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience And Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in aviation, mathematics, operations research, quantitative analysis, computer science, industrial engineering or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience

One (1) year of analytical experience with proven ability to reconcile, compare, evaluate and analyze data

Familiar with database querying (e.g., Structured Query Language (SQL)) and/or high-level programming language(s) (such as Python, or R)

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI)

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Good data analysis and problem-solving skills with a positive, “can-do” attitude

Good written and interpersonal skills

Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)

Must pass pre-employment drug test

Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience And Qualifications

Two (2) years of work experience in aviation, management consulting, or a related field

One (1) year of work experience at an airline in Enterprise/Operations Planning, Network Planning, Revenue Management, or Finance

Experience communicating with senior leadership

Crewmember Expectations

Regular attendance and punctuality

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice

Able to maintain a professional appearance

When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture—that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is between $62,400.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
