Associate / Senior Associate Position Description

Our team specializes in both non‑sponsored and sponsored businesses that operate in a capital‑efficient manner. We work with founders, search funds, minority investors, and majority PE, and build deep relationships with management teams. Opportunistically, the fund will also invest in the secondary broadly syndicated loan market.

The ideal applicant will have experience with software or technology‑enabled services businesses and a strong credit background. We are a small team and are looking for a candidate who can take ownership of their work product, has an intrapreneurial spirit, and can wear multiple hats including underwriting, portfolio management, operations, marketing, and business development. This candidate will also bring an applied understanding of AI-particularly large language models (LLMs) and automation tools-and will use these capabilities to enhance underwriting, diligence, and portfolio management workflows.

Senior Associate title will be considered for more seasoned candidates.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with our direct sourcing team to quickly assess potential opportunities

Conduct financial, operational, and industry due diligence on prospective clients

Analyze monthly and quarterly financials to spot trends

Measure and monitor borrower covenant compliance

Draft credit memorandums and identify key risks and mitigants

Model financial scenarios and return calculations

Drive relationships with executives in the loan portfolio

Work with our operations team to ensure loans are set up accurately in our loan system

Conduct annual loan valuation updates in conjunction with our third‑party auditors

Assist in preparing borrowing base calculations for the fund's leverage facility

Actively build a network of lead sources through direct calling and relationships with other lenders, investment banks, attorneys, and diligence professionals

Pioneer AI efforts for the credit team, including:

- Applying LLMs to automate internal workflows such as data extraction, covenant review, and document summarization

- Building lightweight, proprietary AI tools or prompts to improve underwriting efficiency

- Using AI to enhance market scanning, credit memo drafting, or KPI trend detection

- Partnering with team members to identify high‑impact use cases where AI can improve speed, accuracy, or decision‑making

- Maintaining a pulse on new AI capabilities relevant to credit investing and bringing forward actionable recommendations

Core Competencies / Technical Skills:

At least two years of finance and/or accounting experience

Intermediate to advanced writing skills and financial modeling capability

Superior organizational and time‑management skills

Strong communication skills and high attention to detail

Demonstrated experience with AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or similar) and the ability to apply them to real investment workflows

Comfort working with data and using AI or automation tools to streamline financial analysis, diligence, or portfolio management

Ability to prototype simple internal tools, workflows, or prompt systems to enhance team productivity

Qualifications:

BS/BA Degree

U.S. citizen or permanent resident status

Compensation :

$125K-175K/ year (Does not include annual performance bonus or other compensation benefits)
