Description: Marketing & Communications Manager
Requirements:
Full agreement with MBCA’s Statement of Faith & Doctrinal Statements, passion for Christ-centered instruction
Marketing, Communications, PR, Media Production, or related Bachelor’s Degree
Experience in a marketing & communications role or responsibilities, preferably in a school setting
Ability and experience in video content production
Ability and experience in online and print publication
Ability and experience in social media and website management
Familiarity with private school operations preferred
Unique Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders of the school
Impeccable grammar and written communication
Ability to successfully prioritize multiple tasks in an atmosphere where time-sensitive deadlines are the norm
Ability to work independently while possessing strong collaboration skills
Video production skills (ability to execute the entire video production process)
Graphic design skills
Ability and experience in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
Ability to manage social media accounts
Knowledge of branding concepts and experience in institutional marketing
General Responsibilities
Manages school-wide marketing efforts
Manages school-wide communications efforts
Specific Responsibilities
Strategy & Content Management
Creates and executes content management strategies and cohesive marketing plan
Coordinates communications and marketing efforts with admissions and advancement teams
Coordinates with advancement specialist to provide content for website
Manages school-wide social media presence (Facebook, blogs, YouTube, Instagram, review sites, etc.), and collaborates on division-specific social media communications
Chairs a Marketing & Communications Team and/or coordinates teams of volunteers (parents, faculty, students) to produce marketing and communication materials to support admissions and advancement goals
In conjunction with Director of Advancement, coordinates various community and fundraising events where MBCA students and staff can market the school
Marketing videos
Strategize with advancement, admissions, and other departments
Planning, shooting video of events
Producing marketing videos
Editing/updating existing marketing videos
Oversees and produces publications (online and/or print)
Internal publications (handbooks, weekly newsletter, programs, etc.)
Marketing publications (brochures, flyers, ads, magazines, etc.)
Advancement publications (e.g. annual reports, capital campaign materials, etc.)
Admissions publications (e.g. online content, flyers, application materials, etc.)
Advertising & News
Produces advertisements/campaigns for use in local media
Oversees and produces content and design of marketing and advertising campaigns (e.g.: open houses, capital campaigns, annual fund, marketing for specific goals like new programs)
Coordinates vendor relationships with all relevant marketing and communications partners (web hosting company, freelancers, graphic designers, photography and video support, publishers, etc.)
Promotes school news to local, regional and national media as appropriate through press releases and other avenues
In conjunction with Director of Advancement, coordinates various community and fundraising events where MBCA students and staff can market the school
Photography/Videography
Maintains a digital catalog of all school photography from multiple sources
Serves as photographer and videographer for school events or engage photography/videography services as necessary—requires seasonal, night, or weekend work
Gathers and/or produces visual materials (photography and video) for marketing purposes (internal and external)
Brand Standards
Manages the MBCA Brand Standards Guide and ensures brand consistency schoolwide (including letterhead, business cards, stationery, door signs, merchandising)
Communications
Composes and sends emergency email and text communications to parents, staff, and other school community members using the school’s student information system software, all-school updates
Executes other marketing and communications duties as assigned that contribute to the life of the school
Admissions
Supports admissions events
Audio visual support
Production of admissions materials
Supporting retention events and activities
Maintaining content and presentation of admissions area of website
Producing admissions videos and graphics
Academics
Teach Media Marketing class – which can be used to cross over into school marketing, social media, and video production
Department: Administrative staff
Reports to: Director of Advancement
Hours: Full time, 12 month employee. Flexible work schedule.
