Salary Range: $110,000 $176,000 (based on experience) Full-Time Leadership Opportunity | Competitive Compensation | Hospital Setting A leading acute-care hospital in Northern Virginia is seeking a highly experienced Director of Facilities Management to oversee all engineering, telecommunications, security, and biomedical operations across the campus. This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for regulatory compliance, safety oversight, strategic planning, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in hospital facilities management, strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, and a proven record of managing large, complex teams. Position Summary

The Director of Facilities Management is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all functions related to the physical environment of care. This includes building maintenance, life safety systems, grounds, infrastructure, equipment, and compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations. This individual also serves as the Safety Officer and Co-Chair of the Environment of Care (EOC) Committee, playing a significant role in organizational readiness, emergency management, and sustainability initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Oversee Engineering, Telecommunications, Security, and Biomedical Engineering departments Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for all hospital facilities and systems Ensure hospital compliance with all applicable building codes and regulatory bodies (NFPA, VA State Code, BOCA, OSHA, EPA, Joint Commission, etc.) Direct staff performance and ensure departmental responsibilities align with organizational goals Maintain readiness for inspections and support all regulatory preparedness initiatives Lead sustainability and long-term capital planning efforts Promote continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and a safe environment of care Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and operational enhancements Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of hospital building operations and maintenance experience

At least 5 years of progressive supervisory or management experience

College degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or related field preferred

CHFM certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within the first year)

ASHE membership preferred; required within first year

Strong working knowledge of: Healthcare facility codes and regulations Life safety standards OSHA, EPA, and Joint Commission requirements

Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Compensation

Salary: $110,000 $176,000 (DOE)
