NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a Project Director to lead origination and development of new nuclear generation projects, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and advanced reactor technologies. This high-impact role drives cross-functional development from concept through major decision milestones at America's largest energy infrastructure developer. Supports nuclear development initiatives from concept through gated milestones, integrating siting, licensing, commercial structuring, and cross-functional execution. Provides clear analyses and recommendations on scope, schedule, cost, and risk to support senior management decision-making and advance development investments. The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field 7+ years of energy project development with a track record leading large, complex projects from concept through major investment decisions Strong commercial acumen (contracts, PPAs, revenue models) and financial literacy (project economics, incentives, risk) Demonstrated experience in cross-functional communication, collaboration and executive presentation Relevant experience in nuclear development and commercial structuring Preferred Skills: Advanced degree (MBA or MS Engineering) Experience in nuclear operations or licensing; familiarity with SMR/advanced reactor technologies Experience with NRC processes, environmental permitting, and stakeholder engagement Experience with DOE Energy Dominance Financing and federal tax credits Background in supply chain for large energy projects
