reports to the Store Manager and performs management-assigned duties, which may include but may not be limited to receiving inventory, stocking and maintaining a store section, operating a cash register, carry-out services and store cleaning.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Maintain a store section as assigned and may order, receive and stock merchandise using proper equipment, assures proper pricing on merchandise, checks product date codes to validate proper rotation, stocks shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays and refrigerated/frozen cases. May prepare perishable products for sale. Sets up advertising/promotional displays. Reviews invoices/bills for accuracy.\nCleans and maintains sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of store and parking lot as directed by store management.\nOperates a cash register, receives payment from customers, and makes change or processes check/charge/debit transactions. Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions is looking for a part-time Merchandiser for our Janesville, WI retail location! As the Merchandiser, you will receive, store, and distribute fresh produce from the stockroom, or storage area to fill shelves, racks, tables, or customers' orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Stock produce or other merchandise
Unload materials or equipment
Inspect items for damage or defects
Rotate product, first in, first out
Check backroom stock daily and report to store Produce Manager the need to get all product out on the display floor and report happenings to your immediate supervisor
Discuss goods or services information with customer, merchandising team, and/or sales team
Attach identification information to products, items, or containers
Inspect shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment
Monitor inventories of products or materials
Set up merchandise displays
Remove debris or damaged produce items
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Forklift experience (or willingness to get certified and operate)

Job Details:

Job Type: Regular Part-Time

Job Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday – 8:00am to 12:00pm (approximately 16 hours per week)

Salary: $19.83 per hour

Work Location: Janesville, WI Woodman’s Food Market

Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology

Represent Alsum Farms & Produce to external customers with professionalism
Self-motivated and able to function as part of a team
Ability to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software
Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record and proof of motor vehicle insurance

Physical and Environmental Demands:

The ability to move product with a pallet jack, or by cart
Various repetitive movements
Good manual dexterity to perform required duties
Exposure to airborne particles or fumes
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas
