Responsibilities Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

The primary role of this position is to provide account management/sales targeting industrial, data center, hospitals, and electrical contractors to sell Shermco's full line of electrical testing, maintenance, repair & engineering services.

Perform direct sales and business development activities to contribute to growth and retention of business to meet or exceed targeted sales goals.

Qualify prospective sales opportunities to determine which to pursue.

Accountable for attaining yearly multi-million dollar sales budgets.

Identify, develop and implement sales strategies.

Assist in the preparation of estimates, sales proposals, and sales presentations.

Visit assigned account(s) regularly to maintain a strategic relationship; identify necessary account changes and opportunities quickly.

Maintain industry knowledge and improve technical knowledge based on market requirements.

Support key marketing activities to support sales growth (road shows, national conferences, tradeshows, sales trainings, and trade organizations).

Manage pricing and channel issues as they arise relating to competitive quotes and cross-selling conflicts.

Support accounts from sales, securing purchase orders, terms and conditions, and customer relations.

Perform job walks.

Serve as a front-line focal point between sales and production to qualify opportunities.

Support lunch and learns and lead customer discussions.

Collaborate with Customer Service to enhance the customer's buying experience.

Support Shermco training events and trade shows.

Import sales activity into CRM.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education & experience in Engineering or related field.

3+ years of successful outside B2B sales experience, preferably in an engineering, industrial or heavy commercial industry. Preference given to candidates with a track record in power-related industries, including high-voltage electrical equipment testing & maintenance, electrical field services, testing, engineering (Arc Flash, Coordination Studies, transient studies, load flow), and small-scale T&D or Substations projects.

Self-directed and highly motivated with strong interpersonal, communication, written and oral presentation skills; solid understanding of profitability and financial metrics.

Strong sales and negotiation skills, ability to interact with key customer decision makers, prospect new customers and forecast future business.

Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills.

Required overnight travel 20% of the time.

Basic computer skills: Excel, Word, Adobe, Microsoft Outlook.

Additional Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly with or without reasonable accommodations.

Must pass a fit-for-duty physical exam when required.

Must pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic random drug tests.

Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and all offers are conditioned on acceptable background and drug/alcohol screening results.

Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

Must travel overnight approximately 10-20% of the time to visit customers and attend trade shows.

Must be able to work at a desk/computer and visit various customer sites; must be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical exam.

Must fluently read, write, and speak English.
