Area Manager – Commercial Real Estate & Workplace Services

Job Summary The Area Manager – Commercial Real Estate & Workplace Services is responsible for overseeing real estate and facilities operations across a defined cluster of office and R&D sites within the Americas Region. The role delivers localized leadership for real estate execution, site operations, and workplace experience while serving as a key connection point between internal business stakeholders, outsourced service providers, and the global real estate team.
In addition to ensuring day-to-day operational excellence, the role contributes to global real estate initiatives in sustainability, workplace analytics, and PropTech enablement.
Responsibilities Real Estate & Workplace Operations
Oversee daily site operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and an engaging employee experience
Manage performance of outsourced facilities providers under a centrally coordinated Facilities Management model
Support real estate transactions, site fit-outs, space changes, and occupancy planning
Stakeholder & Change Management
Serve as the primary contact for local business leaders and end users
Lead regional implementation of global workplace strategies and initiatives
Promote adoption of global standards and support business continuity planning
Sustainability & Compliance
Champion sustainability efforts at the site level, including energy, water, and waste reduction
Ensure compliance with internal ESG goals and environmental, health, and safety regulations
Workplace Analytics
Maintain accurate reporting on occupancy, service metrics, and operating costs
Provide regional insights to global workplace dashboards and analytics tools
Support the deployment and adoption of smart workplace and building technologies
Project & Vendor Oversight
Assist in delivering small to mid-sized workplace and facility projects (e.g., renovations, relocations)
Monitor vendor performance against SLAs, safety, quality, and compliance requirements
Financial Management
Manage local operational expenses in line with established budget, support forecasting and planning
Support capital projects including scope of work development, financial planning and stakeholder engagement from project conception through completion
Qualifications & Experience Required (Core) Qualifications:
~10 Years experience in real estate and/or facilities management
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Building Systems Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil).
Interestedin real estate and/or facilities management within office and/or R&D environments
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCad, Bluebeam and real estate/FM systems
Fluent in English(written and verbal).
Willingness to travel within Region US, Canada and Mexico (~20%)and collaborate globally across time zones
Preferred (Desirable) Qualifications:
Experience with space planning, lease support, or workplace transformation
Familiarity with technical or R&D campus environments
Exposure to sustainability programs and smart building systems,
Understanding of global real estate operationsand cross-cultural collaboration
Experience with workplace analytics platforms
