SurfMed is seeking a talented, fully bilingual (English and Spanish) Business Developer to join our team! In this role you will play a critical role in expanding SurfMed’s market presence and strengthening our referral network throughout Miami-Dade County. Your primary responsibility will be to cultivate strategic relationships with healthcare decision-makers, community stakeholders, and referral sources to increase census growth, referral volume, and overall brand visibility. This role is instrumental in increasing SurfMed’s visibility, strengthening community partnerships, and expanding market share in Dade County.
This position requires a highly motivated, community facing professional who succeeds in relationship building, understands Medicaid-based programs, and can effectively position SurfMed’s technology, service model and full DME capabilities as the preferred provider solution in the area. The ideal candidate is a relationship driven, community oriented professional who thrives in face to face outreach environments, demonstrating the ability to independently build strategic partnerships and drive measurable referral growth.
Key Responsibilities
The Business Developer is responsible for driving market growth through strategic outreach, relationship development, and community engagement. This role focuses on expanding referral networks, strengthening provider partnerships, and increasing brand visibility within assigned territories. Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to increase referrals and market share Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources and community stakeholders Conduct consistent in-person outreach, including facility visits and networking events Represent the company at healthcare meetings, community events, and industry conferences Promote ordering efficiencies, service reliability, and full-service DME capabilities Host educational sessions and presentations to referral partners Support bilingual and culturally responsive marketing initiatives Collaborate with marketing on digital outreach and brand visibility efforts Monitor competitor activity and identify growth opportunities Track referral pipeline activity and provide regular performance updates to leadership Job Requirements
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (required) Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Public Health, or related field (highly preferred) Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, or provider outreach Strong understanding of Medicaid-based programs and referral pathways Proven ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships Comfortable with consistent in-person, face-to-face outreach and territory management Professional, polished, and culturally competent communicator Self-directed, highly motivated, and results-driven Strong organizational skills with ability to track and report performance metrics Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools Reliable transportation and ability to travel within assigned territory
