Overview
The Director of Wellness at the Decatur Shelby County YMCA is a dynamic, mission-driven leader responsible for shaping a culture of health and well-being across our Y community. This role oversees wellness operations including fitness programming, personal and group training, and wellness initiatives that serve members of all ages and abilities. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic vision and hands-on leadership, working closely with staff and community partners to deliver high-quality, inclusive programs that reflect our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Responsibilities Oversee wellness operations including fitness programming, personal and group training, and wellness initiatives that serve members of all ages and abilities. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physical education, recreation, or a similarly related field.
Minimum of 2 years in wellness program leadership, including direct staff supervision.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and computer skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
