Overview

North Shore Country Club in Mequon, Wisconsin is seeking a highly motivated and experienced

Golf Course Superintendent

to lead the maintenance and management of our championship golf course and practice facilities. The Superintendent is responsible for the overall conditioning, playability, and presentation of the golf course while maintaining the highest standards of agronomic practices, environmental stewardship, and operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the

General Manager

and works closely with the

Golf Professional staff and Grounds Committee

to ensure the course consistently delivers an exceptional member and guest experience. We are currently working with Dusenberry Design to upgrade our course's bunkers, tee boxes, irrigation, and overall layout. Construction experience will be considered. We also have an extensive equipment replacement schedule that continues to increase our productivity. Course Maintenance & Agronomy

Plan, implement, and manage all golf course maintenance programs including turfgrass management, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and cultural practices. Maintain superior course conditions for daily play, tournaments, and member events. Monitor turf health and apply sound agronomic principles suited to the climate and soil conditions of southeastern Wisconsin. Develop and manage a comprehensive agronomic plan and course improvement program. Staff Leadership & Management

Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise the golf course maintenance team. Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, professionalism, and quality workmanship. Provide ongoing training for staff in proper equipment use, turf practices, and safety procedures. Budget & Resource Management

Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budgets for golf course maintenance. Oversee purchasing, inventory, and cost control of supplies, chemicals, and equipment. Work with club leadership to plan long-term capital improvements and course projects. Irrigation & Equipment

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of the irrigation system. Manage the equipment fleet and coordinate preventative maintenance programs. Environmental Stewardship

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding chemical handling, water use, and environmental protection. Implement sustainable practices that support long-term turf health and resource conservation. Develop an Aquatic Plan management Program Communication & Member Engagement

Provide regular course condition updates to the General Manager and Golf Professional staff. Communicate maintenance practices and projects with members when appropriate. Collaborate on tournament preparation and special events. Qualifications

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by course operations.
