Overview
The Head Golf Professional is responsible for the overall management of daily operations of the golf department at Northampton Valley Country Club. This position oversees golf shop operations, instructional programming, tournaments, merchandising, and staff supervision while promoting the game of golf and delivering exceptional service to members, guests, and the public. The Head Golf Professional works collaboratively with other departments to maximize golf revenue, enhance the member and guest experience and ensure efficient and professional golf operations.
Experience Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 3 years of golf management experience.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Minimum education of a High School Degree.
Must have a valid Driver's License
PGA Member in good standing and maintain membership while employed
The Head Golf Professional will provide care, supervision, guidance or control of children or may have regular, ongoing contact with children that is integral to the responsibilities of the position. In accordance with Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law, the Golf Professional is required to obtain the following:
Report of Criminal History from the Pennsylvania State Police
Child Abuse History Clearances from the Department of Human Services
Fingerprint based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or authorized agent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Maintain verbal communication of detailed information to others by phone or in person.
Basic in Microsoft Word and Excel
Able to read, write and speak English.
Sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.
Visual ability to operate moving equipment such as a car, golf cart etc.
Repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Ability to work in extreme heat, high wind, humidity and/or cold weather.
Essential Responsibilities Position Requirements:
Manage day-to-day operations of the golf shop and golf services, including tee sheet management, pace of play and reservation systems.
Plan, organize, and administer golf tournaments, leagues, outings, and events.
Oversee golf instruction programs including private lessons, clinics, junior programs, and summer camps.
Supervise golf department staff including pro shop employees, starters, marshals, and outside services staff.
Manage retail operations including merchandise purchasing, inventory control and sales.
Maintain golf equipment and golf cart fleet operations in coordination with maintenance staff.
Monitor golf operations revenue and assist in budget preparation and financial oversight.
Coordinate with other departments to support club events, food and beverage operations and membership services.
Enforce course policies, rules of golf, and operational standards to ensure a positive golfing experience.
