Total Merchant Supply provides Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and merchant processing solutions to restaurants, bars, breweries, and small retail businesses throughout the Charlotte area for the last 29 years. We provide small business owners with Point of Sale and payment processing solutions to improve their operational efficiency.
Position Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated business, marketing, or sales student to gain real-world B2B sales experience. The Outside Sales Representative will focus exclusively on acquiring new customers in the Charlotte market by presenting and demonstrating our POS software and hardware solution in our showroom or at the customer’s location. You will gain hands-on experience in prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and closing business-to-business sales while building relationships with local business owners. Responsibilities
Identify and prospect new business opportunities in Charlotte and surrounding areas with creative, outside-the-box thinking Conduct in-person demonstrations of our POS software and hardware system Present POS and merchant processing solutions tailored to business needs Build professional relationships with restaurant, bar, brewery, and retail owners Track leads and manage sales activities Meet performance and sales goals Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, or Business
OR
Junior/Senior currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, or Sales Must lived in and be familiar with the Charlotte area Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle Availability to work approximately 25 hours per week between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday Strong communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated, creative and persistent Preferred Qualifications
Experience with POS systems, payment processing, or the credit card industry Management experience in hospitality or retail What You Will Gain
Professional presentation and negotiation skills Exposure to the merchant services and payment processing industry Strong earning potential through commission Resume-building experience working directly with local businesses Job growth to full time position with possible management position
