
Technical Sales Manager - Water/Wastewater

Overview
We have been retained by a leading water treatment equipment company that specializes in the design and construction of innovative systems for water treatment applications. With a strong focus on providing efficient and effective solutions, they are committed to delivering high-quality products to their clients. Our client is in immediate need of a Technical Sales Manager that will use excellent sales, communication and presentation skills to efficiently manage his/her market sector(s) to grow sales revenue and increase profitability. The key to success in this position will be to develop a consistent track record of selling water treatment technologies, building relationships with the engineers that specify process systems, effectively articulate technical solutions to the customer and exhibit a strong work ethic. Special emphasis will be on aeration/oxygenation systems for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment and ozone technologies for municipal water reuse applications.
Responsibilities
Sell their products, systems and services to direct customer accounts and through manufacturers’ representatives and distributors. Present their solutions to the consulting engineers and other decision makers that specify technologies in industrial and municipal water treatment projects with special focus on wastewater and water reuse applications. Proactively engage with external engineers, equipment suppliers, contractor and other stakeholders to gather detailed project requirements, site-specific constraints, and operational goals necessary for the development of effective wastewater and drinking water treatment solutions. Serve as a technical liaison between external stakeholders and internal engineering team, providing detailed and accurate project information, insights into customer-specific challenges, and assistance in creating successful and efficient designs. Collaborate with internal engineering team to prepare appropriate quotations and designs tailored to project needs. Achieve in depth knowledge of products/systems and applications, including understanding the system design process and related proprietary calculation engines. Act as a trusted advisor offering technical expertise and recommending appropriate design options. Provide assistance in maintaining clear communication with external parties and internal teams to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle and address questions or discrepancies promptly to keep projects on track. Prepare quotations for customers by collecting process information and then working with internal engineering groups to develop appropriate designs. Manage the sales process from initial contact to finalization of order and then provide periodic interaction with customer to ensure satisfactory completion of the project. Support and manage manufacturers reps, agents and distributors and evaluate their performance in promoting business. Identify OEMs, integrators and/or contractors to incorporate their components into wastewater treatment systems. Penetrate new markets and applications with their technologies. Prepare action plans for target accounts and market sectors. Maintain comprehensive records of customer activity in the company CRM system. Act as the eyes and ears of the company in the marketplace reporting industry trends, competitive activity and the reputation of their brand.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with Science or Engineering major. Three years in sales or technical role within the water/wastewater industry or similar field. Excellent communication skills. Strong technical knowledge. Works independently subject to general management direction
Compensation
Compensation is a commensurate salary of experience ranging from $90-100k, plus commissions and full benefits with exceptional growth potential.
