Commercial Roofing
Service Manager
to lead and grow the company’s roofing service and maintenance division. This role is responsible for managing service technicians, coordinating repair and maintenance work, and ensuring exceptional customer service for property owners, facility managers, and general contractors. The Service Manager oversees service scheduling, inspections, leak investigations, preventative maintenance programs, and small repair projects while maintaining efficiency, profitability, and high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of the roofing service department
Manage service calls including leak investigations, repairs, warranty work, and maintenance
Schedule and dispatch service technicians efficiently across New England
Team Leadership
Supervise and support roofing service technicians and service crews
Train technicians on safety, troubleshooting, and roofing system repairs
Ensure teams are properly equipped and prepared for daily work assignments
Customer Service & Communication
Serve as the primary contact for service customers including property managers, building owners, and contractors
Respond quickly to emergency calls and urgent service requests
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction
Estimating & Proposals
Perform site visits to assess roofing issues and prepare repair proposals
Develop pricing for service work and small roofing projects
Review completed work to ensure accuracy in billing and documentation
Preventative Maintenance Programs
Develop and manage roof maintenance plans for commercial clients
Conduct roof inspections and provide condition reports
Identify opportunities for proactive repairs and future projects
Scheduling & Logistics
Coordinate materials, equipment, and labor for service work
Optimize technician routes and scheduling for efficiency
Ensure proper documentation of work orders and service reports
Safety & Compliance
Enforce OSHA safety standards and company safety policies
Ensure technicians follow proper safety procedures and equipment protocols
Performance & Reporting
Track service department performance including response time, revenue, and profitability
Provide reports to company leadership on service operations and growth opportunities
Qualifications
5+ years of roofing experience , preferably in service or repair operations
Strong understanding of commercial and residential roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, metal, shingles)
Experience diagnosing roof leaks and developing repair solutions
Leadership or supervisory experience managing technicians or crews
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple service requests and emergencies
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout New England
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing roofing maintenance programs
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Experience with service dispatch or project management software
Background in estimating repair work
