
Director of Recruitment

* Partner with managers and senior leaders across Texas Development to identify staffing needs and recruit top talent in the development and advancement profession.* Lead and continuously improve a proactive, relationship driven recruitment strategy that supports fundraising, advancement services, marketing and communications, and operational teams.* Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, providing insight on talent markets, role design, sourcing strategies, and best practices in hiring.* Oversee full cycle recruitment for key roles, from intake and sourcing through candidate selection and offer.* Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines through outreach, networking, referrals, and engagement with development and higher education professional networks.* Ensure a positive, consistent, and professional hiring experience for candidates and internal stakeholders.* Use data and market insights to evaluate recruitment outcomes and support continuous improvement.* Collaborate with Talent Development partners to support broader goals related to professional growth, engagement, and organizational culture.* Work with University Development leadership, deans, and chief development officers to recruit fundraising and advancement professionals in the recruitment and search process.* Work with the Executive Director of Talent Development to develop an overall recruitment strategy, set priorities and goals.* Work with internal teams, hiring managers and key stakeholders to assist with all recruitment efforts, utilizing various levels of outreach based on search strategy and position level. Manage hiring manager partnerships by communicating clearly and often to provide status updates, manage expectations and solve roadblocks as they arise.* Manage and develop the recruitment team.* Manage the recruitment process and life cycle, including educating hiring managers and HR partners on best practices for recruitment, job description development and job postings, initial assessments, interviews, feedback and offer negotiations.* Identify and source appropriate talent for current open roles within the organization. This may include job posting optimization, recruiting marketing channel development, job board procurement, social media, internet sourcing, digital and non-digital employment marketing, and talent planning.* Create and maintain positive relationships with highly qualified candidates. Grow, maintain, and track a strong pipeline of qualified talent for positions in Texas Development to aid with prospective candidate engagement over time and ultimately convert them into active candidates and new hires as needed.* Work collaboratively with Data Analytics to track quantitative information including time-to-hire, quality of hire and other key indicators thereby allowing the Talent Development Team to make data-driven decisions.* Support with talent mapping process to be used to better understand our staffing needs for the future.* Lead efforts to create and implement recruitment policies, procedures, and resources in coordination with the HR team and other teams as needed, with a goal of building a process foundation that is effective and efficient while continuing to strive for ongoing process improvement. These efforts will ensure high-quality experience for internal stakeholders as well as external candidates. Constantly seek feedback from candidates and hiring managers to improve processes.* Establish and maintain positive and meaningful relationships with Texas Development staff, particularly management and key stakeholders. Take a lead role in employee relations for the University Development Office. Working closely with the Executive Director and Human Resources, make policy recommendations to ensure a healthy and positive workplace.* Additional duties as assigned.* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.* Significant experience leading recruitment or talent acquisition functions, preferably within development, advancement, higher education, or mission-driven organizations.* Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders and hiring managers to recruit specialized or highly competitive talent.* Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment practices, sourcing strategies, and candidate assessment methods.**Start Here, Change the World**At The University of Texas at Austin, tradition meets innovation in the heart of a city that frequents lists of the best places to live and work.
