Position Summary Directly oversee summer school, facilitate development, implementation, and advancement of curricular, instructional, and personnel functions of summer school in an effort to continually improve student performance. On-site administration for the operation of school programs, personnel, and facilities. Assigns summer school personnel. Supervises summer school staff members. Observes the in-class performance of summer school teachers and confers/consults with them regarding student development and progress. Oversees afternoon enrichment activities and vendor staff.
Minimum Qualifications Eligibility: Assistant Principals and/or individuals who meet the following minimum education and experience qualifications:
Must possess and provide evidence of a master\'s degree, inclusive of 20 semester hours in School Administration, Supervision, Curriculum, and School Finance.
In the absence of the School Finance coursework, the candidate must show demonstrated experience developing and managing staff and operating budgets.
Proficient in PowerSchool and can lead the scheduling components of Summer Learning.
Must possess and provide evidence of a valid Michigan Teacher Certificate.
Must possess and provide evidence of a State of Michigan Administrator Certification.
A minimum of five (5) years of certified contract teaching experience with a demonstrated proficiency at or above the performance at the secondary level
Leadership or supervisory experience required.
Must possess in-depth knowledge of curriculum and instruction, adult and child learning theory.

K-8 Ballmer and High School Credit Recovery:
June 22 - July 24, 2026, (no programming on July 4th)
ESE Center Based Schools (200 Day &ESY):
July 6- August 7, 2026
High School Credit Recovery:
7:30 am -1:30 pm
ESE Sites:
Hours follow the 200-Day Program and ESY schedule
