1st shift (United States of America) Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team charged with ensuring governance over regulatory reporting processes. Provide expert advice on a broad range of regulatory reporting issues to executives, senior leadership, external auditors, and regulators. Prepare communications for executive leadership and external regulators related to regulatory reporting. Oversee development of implementation strategies for complex regulatory reporting requirements. Provide vision and leadership on governance strategies, improvements, and upgrades. Develop strategies to improve governance frameworks and embed enforcement and accountability provisions. Lead high-risk work programs, establish methodologies, and set direction for policies and procedures. Provide team leadership and long-term planning for the group. Develop plans impacting direction and resource allocation, and proactively resolve technical, operational, risk, and organizational challenges. Provide subject matter expertise in governance activities such as data management, issues management, change management, internal controls, risk assessment, training, reporting and escalation. Oversee design and implementation of process changes and internal controls for new regulatory reporting requirements; monitor guidelines to ensure compliance with federal, FDIC, and state reporting requirements. Coordinate responses to supervisory examination letters by collecting background information, drafting responses, and incorporating feedback into final management responses. Provide leadership on data needed for regulatory reporting. Develop processes ensuring data integrity and internal controls. Identify risks and controls along the data supply chain and assess data lineage and critical data elements. Develop and maintain a robust regulatory reporting training program; deploy training across data providers, data stewards, support roles, and report production teams. Lead discussions with regulatory staff of the FRB and FDIC on matters impacting Truist\'s regulatory reports. Ensure design and implementation of processes and controls to comply with GAAP and to prevent deficiencies in internal control over financial reporting; support risk management objectives and ensure policy compliance; maintain related documentation. Assist reporting production teams with implementation of new regulatory reporting requirements, including policy design, operational processes, and internal control frameworks; manage change control for regulatory reporting changes. Provide leadership, mentoring, and training for Regulatory Reporting Governance teammates; foster diversity and inclusion across the organization. Represent Truist in banking organizations through participation in meetings and committees; use industry contacts to assess governance efforts. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent education Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation; strong technical accounting knowledge Fifteen years of relevant accounting or accounting policy experience with knowledge of GAAP, liquidity and BASEL reporting; twelve years of leadership/supervisory experience Strong leadership with integrity, clarity, and excellence; proactive thinking and teamwork Strong ethics and high energy; ability to meet demanding timelines and targets Self-motivated with ability to work without supervision; manage multiple priorities Team-oriented with willingness to support broader goals Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, and analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and databases Preferred Qualifications: Master\'s degree in Business or Accountancy Experience with a large SEC-registered financial institution or senior manager-level public accounting with extensive banking experience Experience as an examiner of financial reports for OCC, FRB, or FDIC Benefits
