About the Role:

We are actively seeking a skilled Law and Motion / Appellate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our dynamic Law and Motion and Appeals Team. Our team is essential in providing outstanding written advocacy that enhances our litigators' performance across various practice areas. As a member of this specialized unit, you will play a significant role in shaping litigation strategies, crafting effective law-and-motion tactics for both dispositive and non-dispositive motions, and offering trial support. You will receive collaborative support and work closely with lead attorneys, gaining vital experience and contributing to the success of each case.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft pretrial motions and oppositions, including motions related to pleadings, discovery, and dispositive matters.
• Prepare trial motions and assist in developing trial documents, such as motions in limine, trial briefs, pocket briefs, and jury instructions.
• Create post-trial motions, including motions for new trial and attorney's fees.
• Engage in handling appellate cases and conducting appellate arguments while learning from experienced appellate practitioners in the firm.
• Perform legal research and provide recommendations to clients and litigation attorneys on complex legal matters.
• Analyze and develop litigation and appellate strategies.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• Active membership in California State Bar and in good standing.
• Experience with law review or significant legal writing is advantageous.
• Exceptional research and writing skills, along with strong analytical abilities.
• Previous judicial clerkship or externship is a plus.
• Prior experience as a criminal defense attorney is beneficial but not required.
