On-Air Talent Job at iHeartMedia in Atlanta

iHeartMedia, Atlanta, GA, United States

What We Need: WUBL‑FM / 94.9 The Bull in Atlanta is looking for an on‑air Country talent who’s ready to walk in and own the moment from day one. We’re not searching for someone to simply “do a shift” — we want a brand‑builder with superstar energy, authentic connection, and a pulse on the culture of Country. This opportunity is for talent who can command the mic, create must‑hear content, and move the needle. If you already bring programming experience to the table — or you’re hungry to grow into a programming leadership role — this is a runway opportunity to expand your impact, sharpen your strategy, and help shape the future sound of the station. What You'll Do: This role is built for someone who can entertain at a high level while thinking strategically about how to grow the station’s brand and competitive edge. Deliver a compelling, high‑energy on‑air show that drives ratings, builds loyalty, and deepens listener engagement. Create original, culturally relevant content daily across on‑air, digital, and social platforms. Execute station formatics with precision — timing, pacing, music flow, and brand positioning must be tight and intentional. Adhere to all guidelines, policies and procedures of the station, iHeartMedia, the FCC and all other federal, state and local laws, including policies and procedures regarding indecency and obscenity. Collaborate with the Program Director on music logs, clocks, promotions, and strategic content initiatives. Contribute creative ideas that elevate imaging, benchmarks, contests, and listener experiences. Participate in aircheck sessions and actively pursue performance coaching and skill development. For candidates interested in programming growth: assist in music scheduling, talent coaching, format strategy, and long‑term brand planning. Maintain consistent execution across FCC compliance, commercial breaks, and promotional obligations. Work cross‑functionally with sales and promotions to ideate and execute revenue‑driving campaigns that feel authentic to the brand. Prepare for an air shift using creativity, imagination and exercise of independent professional judgment in writing, producing, interviewing, taping or broadcasting on‑air material. Ensure logged commercials, promotions and any other programming essential to the station’s operation are aired. Participate in required station Programming, Promotions, and Sales staff meetings and events. Serve as a brand ambassador at station events, concerts, and community appearances. Makes regular approved appearances at station events. Assist with voice over and production of paid and non‑paid spots required to run on the station. Prepare written content, visual images, audio and video material for social media platforms. Check studio equipment for proper functioning and notify Engineering of technical malfunctions affecting quality of the broadcast. Handle emergency inserts (e.g. news updates and breaking stories, emergencies, alert system tests, etc.); be on call for possible disasters, breaking news, or acts of nature. What You'll Need: This is a role for someone who can perform at a high level today — and who has the ambition and capacity to grow into a larger strategic voice within the programming team tomorrow. Proven on‑air experience in Country radio with a strong, distinctive aircheck that demonstrates personality, pacing, and audience connection. Deep knowledge of the Country format — current hits, gold library, artist narratives, and lifestyle culture. Strong content instincts with the ability to create compelling, topical, and relatable breaks that drive appointment listening. Digital fluency — comfortable creating and distributing content across social platforms, streaming, podcasts, and video. Strategic mindset with interest or experience in programming fundamentals including music scheduling, clock structure, and imaging strategy. Coachable, growth‑oriented, and motivated to expand into greater leadership responsibility over time. Ability to analyze audience data and translate insights into actionable content improvements. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally across programming, promotions, and sales. Reliable, organized, and capable of executing at a high level in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness to be active in the Atlanta community and represent the brand at events and appearances. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms. Proficient in media production and broadcast systems; familiar with Sound+, Vox Pro, and Pro Tools. Strong knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations. Socially informed and perceptive; up‑to‑date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on‑air discussions. Demonstrated upbeat personality, informative, entertaining and engaging on the air; able to relate to station audience. Pleasant, charismatic and well‑controlled voice; excellent pronunciation. Excellent verbal and written communication and editing skills; proficient in grammar; ability to make others feel comfortable and open up on air. Able to adapt to changes in schedules and maintain composure in a fast‑paced environment with short deadlines. Work Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of full‑time on‑air experience in a Country format (major market experience strongly preferred). Demonstrated track record of ratings performance and audience growth. Experience executing live broadcasts, remote events, and major market promotions. Previous exposure to programming strategy, clock building, or brand positioning a plus. Digital content creation experience including social video, podcasting, and streaming platforms.
