Hello, We are The Fountain Group, a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist for a prominent client of ours. This position is based in Altavista, VA . Details for the position are as follows: Job Description: Pay: $44-$47 Assignment: 12-month assignment with possibility of extension based on performance and budget (OPEN TO RELOCATION AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE) Work schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) Overview: You help keep the company’s digital systems safe. That includes protecting computers, networks, and software from hackers and making sure the company follows the law and industry rules about cybersecurity. You’ll work with different teams like IT, Engineering, and Compliance. Key Responsibilities Risk & Security Management: Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis for OT systems and networks; maintain a risk register and develop mitigation strategies and incident response plans. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the daily liaison between site engineering, operations leadership, IT/OT teams, QA/validation, vendors, and corporate cybersecurity teams to communicate risks and implement security controls. Monitoring & Compliance: Maintain OT asset inventories, monitor cybersecurity threats, ensure compliance with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and support audits while managing security tools and platforms such as Splunk, Armis, and ServiceNow. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or similar required . At least 5 years of cybersecurity experience (preferably in regulated industries like food, healthcare, or medical devices). Strong experience with cyber risk assessments, vulnerability management, threat modeling, and incident response, particularly within operational technology (OT) or industrial environments. Knowledge of cloud security, network protocols, and secure applications, along with experience securing both software and hardware systems. Familiarity with cybersecurity regulations and compliance standards, including frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001. Experience working with security technologies including firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), SIEM systems, and log aggregation tools. Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to translate technical cybersecurity risks for non-technical teams and collaborate across engineering, operations, IT/OT, and vendor teams.
