Position Summary The Community Engagement Manager plays a central role in generating community-based revenue and in-kind support for Tri-Lakes Cares. This position leads TLC’s signature fundraising events, executes community-based revenue initiatives, and builds strong sponsor and donor relationships that expand TLC’s impact. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role focuses on event leadership, sponsorship engagement, and campaign execution. Financial reconciliation, gift processing, and database management are handled by Finance/Development Operations, allowing this position to concentrate on revenue-producing activities and relationship building. Over time, this role is expected to strengthen long-term relationships with sponsors, community partners, and donors in ways that support steady growth in net event revenue and consistently high-quality event experiences. This is a part-time, hybrid position based in Monument, CO. Signature Event Leadership Lead planning and execution of TLC’s major fundraising events, including: Taste of Tri-Lakes Cares Empty Bowls Dinner & Silent Auction Responsibilities include: Developing event plans and revenue goals Building and managing event budgets Securing venues and vendor contracts Recruiting and stewarding sponsors Coordinating participating restaurants and partners Overseeing auction planning and activation Recruiting, coordinating, and providing day‑of leadership for event volunteers Creating clear volunteer roles, expectations, and communication to ensure a positive and organized event experience Ensuring strong donor and sponsor experience Providing post‑event summaries and revenue insights This role owns the full lifecycle of event execution, from planning through post‑event stewardship. Sponsor & Donor Engagement Cultivate and steward event sponsors and business partners Partner with board and leadership to strengthen sponsor and donor relationships Track sponsor benefits and recognition Identify opportunities to strengthen sponsor retention and growth Collaborate with Development leadership on donor engagement strategy Community Partnerships & External Engagement Strengthen TLC’s presence and visibility within the Tri‑Lakes community by building and maintaining meaningful external relationships. Responsibilities include: Identifying and monitoring local events, fundraisers, and community activities where TLC may participate or serve as a beneficiary partner Building relationships with local businesses, schools, civic groups, and community organizations to introduce TLC and explore partnership opportunities for financial contributions, in‑kind donations, and community‑based support Representing TLC at chamber events, school activities, civic meetings, and other local gatherings to strengthen visibility and relationships in the community Coordinating TLC participation in partnership events and beneficiary opportunities, including materials, volunteers, and follow‑up communication Partnering with the Communications Manager to develop clear and compelling sponsorship and partnership materials that reflect TLC’s mission and community impact Track and evaluate community partnerships and outreach efforts to inform future engagement Ensuring community partners feel appreciated, informed, and connected to TLC’s mission Campaign Coordination Coordinate TLC’s participation in annual and community‑driven fundraising efforts, including Empty Stocking Fund, Colorado Gives Day, Colorado Combined Campaign, and other community events, partnerships, and food drives. Responsibilities include: Managing timelines and compliance requirements Coordinating messaging with Communications Supporting donor engagement and recognition Tracking participation and working with Finance to confirm revenue totals Ensuring consistent follow‑through and visibility across campaigns Supporting volunteer coordination as needed for community‑based events Cross‑Department Collaboration Partner with Finance/Development Operations to ensure clarity around campaign structure and reporting Participate in regular Dev–Finance coordination meetings Provide event and campaign context for board and leadership reporting Support broader development initiatives as needed Qualifications Required 3+ years of relevant experience in nonprofit development, event leadership, fundraising, or related field Strong project management and organizational skills Experience building relationships with local businesses, community partners, and sponsors Ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities Comfort working with budgets and revenue tracking Ability to communicate TLC’s mission and impact in a clear, engaging, and authentic way Commitment to ethical fundraising and TLC’s mission Experience leading or coordinating volunteers in event or community settings Preferred Experience leading signature fundraising events Experience coordinating volunteers Familiarity with nonprofit event platforms Schedule & Work Environment This is a part‑time, nonexempt position working 30 - 35 hours per week. Additional hours and evening or occasional weekend hours are required during peak event seasons. Outside of event periods, scheduling flexibility is supported, and many planning responsibilities may be completed remotely. Compensation & Benefits The hourly rate for this position is $26–$33, depending on experience, and the role is non‑exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law. Tri‑Lakes Cares offers a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with a 3% employer match, and dental and vision coverage are available (employee‑paid). Part‑time employees accrue vacation based on hours worked, receive sick leave in accordance with Colorado law, and are eligible for 11 paid holidays annually (prorated).
