Job Description

SUMMARY: This is an at-will and partisan position that produces and edits visual media for all members of the House Republican caucus. The communications office offers a wide array of services, giving video content producers a wide breadth of experience and allowing them to draw from multiple skill sets. Our team of video content producers operate and maintain an on-site studio for video shoots, podcasts, press conferences and other events. They also attend House voting sessions, committee meetings and occasional in-district events around the state to record events and help legislators communicate what’s happening at the Capitol to constituents at home. Candidates for this role should also expect to manage scheduling studio time and prepared shoots for 58 Republican legislators, while also being part of the team that prepares and manages the Speaker of the House’s regular press conferences at the Capitol. This role will draw heavily on a videographer’s skills as a shooter and also their skills as a creative and efficient editor, as dozens of legislators count on our video content producers for both timely shoots and quick turnarounds for all sorts of varied content. This role requires close attention to detail, dynamic creativity, and originality. Successful candidates also must be able to work closely with legislators, a large staff team, and officials and staff from other branches of government. The position requires in-person work Monday-Friday, with occasional remote work as directed by the Chief of Staff or Speaker of the House and will require infrequent work on some nights and weekends. Due to the nature of the position, a high level of confidentiality is required.
