NCAA Guidelines

Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Acting on behalf of in and in consultation with the director of student publications, duties include: 1. Recruiting, training and managing the design editor, photo editor, and content editor for The Sycamore. 2. Assisting the senior staff in recruiting, training and managing writers, photographers and graphic artists. 3. Planning stories, photographs, and graphics for publication and assisting senior editors in applying good editorial judgment. 4. Developing and maintaining a production schedule. 5. Assigning stories, photos and graphics as needed to ensure successful and timely completion. 6. Overseeing editing of all stories, photographs and other visual elements. 7. Ensuring all staff members understand and adhere to standards for professional and ethical behavior. 8. Responding to all public inquiries. 9. Assisting with marketing and promotion of the yearbook. 10. Ensuring the yearbook is available for high-quality print on demand as scheduled. 11. Directing staff and coordinating with others within Student Media to develop a web presentation when the book is completed for print. 12. Working with other members of the Student Media staff as appropriate. 13. Other duties as needed or assigned by the director of student publications.
