You may qualify at the NH-03, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) at the NH-2210-3, some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serving as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or Information System Security Manager (ISSM) for DMEA.
- Performing reviews and identifying gaps in the DMEA cybersecurity architecture and develops solutions to accomplish cybersecurity program goals.
- Ensuring cybersecurity-enabled products or other compensating security control technologies reduce any identified risks to an acceptable level.
- Developing plans and techniques to address new threats and improve the overall cybersecurity program and policies.
- Advising leaders and Authorizing Officials of changes affecting the organization's cybersecurity posture.
- Participating in risk governance processes to provide security risks, mitigations, and inputs on other technical risks.
- Performing cyber defense incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identifies the specific vulnerability; and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.

You may qualify at the NH-03, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
- Experience in a position covered by the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework () or equivalent;
- Implementing, developing, contributing to, or authoring cybersecurity policies;
- Overseeing or conducting key concepts in security management (e.g. Patch Management) and basic system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques;
- Implementing or managing cybersecurity related projects or initiatives;
- Monitoring external data to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and determine which security issues may have an impact on the enterprise.

- The overall salary range listed above is provided for informational purposes as it represents the full range that is applicable to current employees in this occupation/grade; however, a selectee's initial pay is always set below the maximum rate of the range.
