Introduction
County Administration's Office of Public Affairs and Communications is looking for a Broadcast and Media Production Specialist to join our team. Our office is responsible for countywide internal and external communications and constituent services programs that connect Loudoun County residents, businesses, and communities with information about their government and its services. These responsibilities include producing live public meetings that are televised and live streamed online, as well as programing the Loudoun County Government Cable Channel, which airs on Comcast and Verizon FiOS.

Job Summary
The Broadcast and Media Production Specialist is responsible for aspects of Loudoun County's cable channel programing, which primarily is comprised of live public meetings. This position's core responsibility is serving as a technical director during live meetings and ensuring all public meetings are recorded for the record.
The Broadcast and Media Production Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Minimum Qualifications
Associates or technical degree; three (3) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
Successful candidates will undergo background checks as required. May be required to work during the evenings or on weekends. This position requires working 24/7 in case of County emergencies and possibly at alternate locations and performing alternated duties.

Job Summary
The Broadcast and Media Production Specialist is responsible for aspects of Loudoun County's cable channel programing, which primarily is comprised of live public meetings. This position's core responsibility is serving as a technical director during live meetings and ensuring all public meetings are recorded for the record.
The Broadcast and Media Production Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepares meeting rooms and equipment for broadcasts in a timely fashion, which includes the configuration of furniture and television equipment, the testing of equipment, and collaborating with the clerks to the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission and with other staff to ensure public meetings operate smoothly.
- Operates the County's television control room, including all equipment associated with the televising of live meetings.
- Ensures official meetings are recorded in accordance with policy and procedures so that recordings can be archived in the public record.
- Operates television and video production equipment, including robotic cameras, microphones, lights, switcher, and various computer systems, as required of a technical director.
- Develops and manages cable programming on Loudoun County's Government Channel, which includes managing the scheduling of closed captioning for public meetings, programing content on the County's cable channel, and publishing a schedule of programing on a regular basis.
- Rapidly troubleshoots technology glitches and failures to restore television operations to normal as quickly as possible, often during live meetings.
- Collaborates with contracted vendors to maintain all equipment in good working order and to facilitate rapid repairs and replacements of equipment as needed.
- Maintains an inventory of television equipment to include asset management, maintenance/repair requests, and implementation of new broadcast- and video-related equipment and coordinates repairs, replacements, purchases, and implementations of new equipment as necessary.
- Produces graphics for cable channel programming as needed.
- Provides outstanding customer service to senior elected and appointed officials.
