Senior Graphic Designer (Project Management)
Senior Graphic Designer - Melville, NY
Uncle Giuseppes Marketplace is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to lead day‑to‑day creative execution for print, in‑store, packaging, and brand collateral. This role is hands‑on and highly collaborative—ideal for someone who can move fast without sacrificing craft, and who takes pride in keeping a multi‑store retail brand looking consistent, premium, and unmistakably Uncle Gs.
You’ll partner closely with marketing, merchandising, operations, and store teams to deliver high‑impact design that drives sales, supports store execution, and strengthens brand trust.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Creative Leadership
Serve as a brand guardian across all physical touchpoints ensuring consistency in typography, layout, color, tone, and overall presentation.
Maintain and evolve brand standards and toolkits (templates, guidelines, reusable layouts).
Provide design leadership on campaigns and seasonal programs raising the bar while keeping execution practical for stores.
Support and mentor junior designers/production help as needed.
Print & In‑Store Creative (High Volume)
Design in‑store signage sets: case headers, price cards, endcap signage, posters, banners, department signage, and seasonal/event materials.
Build scalable template systems that improve speed, accuracy, and consistency across all locations.
Prepare press‑ready files with strong production discipline (bleeds, dielines, spot colors, resolution, vendor specs).
Coordinate with print/signage partners and internal stakeholders to ensure quality control and on‑time delivery.
Packaging & Product Creative
Design and update private label packaging and labels (working within provided dielines and regulatory copy).
Ensure packaging is compliant, clean, premium, and consistent across categories.
Collaborate with vendors/printers to manage rounds of revisions, proofs, and production handoff.
Campaign & Event Support (Physical Assets)
Create physical campaign assets for promotions, store events, catering programs, and seasonal merchandising.
Develop cohesive store‑ready creative kits that make execution easy at the store level.
Ensure every piece is accurate, legible, and aligned with brand voice and merchandising priorities.
AI‑Enabled Design Workflow
Use generative AI tools and AI‑assisted design workflows (where appropriate) to accelerate concept exploration, layout variations, image refinement, background removal, and production efficiency while maintaining brand standards and human‑led creative judgment.
Apply strong usage discipline: verify accuracy, avoid misleading or non‑compliant imagery/claims, and ensure final outputs meet Uncle Giuseppes quality, licensing, and brand requirements.
Workflow, Ownership & Collaboration
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and deliver on deadline.
Keep files organized and versioned so the team can move quickly and avoid errors.
Communicate clearly with stakeholders, present concepts when needed, and iterate efficiently based on feedback.
Proactively flag issues that impact production, timelines, or brand consistency (and bring solutions).
Qualifications & Experience
610+ years of graphic design experience; retail/grocery/CPG/hospitality experience strongly preferred.
Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Strong print production and prepress knowledge (color, resolution, bleeds, specs, proofing).
Demonstrated ability to work at both the system level (templates/standards) and the execution level (high‑volume production).
Excellent typography, layout, and visual hierarchy skills especially for promotional signage.
Comfort using generative AI / AI‑assisted creative tools as part of a modern design workflow (concepting, iteration, and production support).
Excellent organizational and project management habits; calm under pressure.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Packaging experience (labels, dielines, vendor coordination, print proofing).
Experience creating retail signage systems across multiple locations.
Familiarity with large‑format printing, substrates, and installation considerations.
Basic photo editing/retouching skills for food/product imagery.
