is partnering with a reputable national food manufacturer to find a
Quality Assurance Director . In this critical role, you will lead efforts to develop, implement, and enhance the company's Quality, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Regulatory programs. Your goal will be to ensure all production operations—from raw materials to finished products—meet stringent internal standards and regulatory requirements while promoting a robust food safety culture. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the Quality & Food Safety department, focusing on daily operations, strategic planning, and team development. Develop, execute, and maintain food safety and quality policies, procedures, and programs. Serve as the SQF Practitioner, PCQI, and HACCP Coordinator. Manage SQF certification processes and spearhead food safety and third-party audits. Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory and certification bodies, including SQF, FSMA, GFCO, Kosher, and GFFP. Continuously develop and validate SQF and HACCP programs to ensure compliance. Lead environmental monitoring and laboratory testing initiatives (e.g., Listeria, Salmonella, microbial testing). Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement corrective actions across various departments. Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, Warehousing, Transportation, and New Product Development teams to integrate food safety into processes and equipment. Investigate and resolve customer complaints, ensuring effective corrective actions are executed and recorded. Coach and develop team members within the Quality & Food Safety department. Support commissioning, qualification, and verification (CQV) efforts for new equipment, processes, and products. Maintain compliance with FSMA, Organic, Kosher, Gluten-Free, and other regulatory standards. Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience in Quality and Food Safety within food manufacturing. Thorough knowledge of SQF, FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and PCQI requirements. Experience leading audits and managing regulatory inspections. Demonstrated leadership skills with strong cross-functional communication abilities.
