Home Inspection Field Representative (Non LO Servicing)
The Home Inspection Field Representatives complete a variety of inspection-related requests for new and existing customers and inspections on potentially vacant homes. This role reports to the Home Inspection Field Supervisor and drives to collateral locations, communicates with delinquent customers and Home Office, assesses status and condition of VMF homes. Job Functions: Driving to Collateral Locations and Property Visits Reviews inspection-related requests for new and existing homes. Determines coverage area to ensure timely completion of requests. Locates homes utilizing mapping software and drives to each location. Confirms addresses and verifies collateral matches descriptions. Input results daily for the inspections completed, including uploading pictures and condition report, and review accounts to prepare for the next day. Verifies correct party contact and connects customers with Account Representative (collections team member) in the Home Office; does not communicate with customer about delinquency/collections. 50% communication methods face to face and 50% completed over the phone and via email. Establishes and cultivates relationships within the Home Office and various departments supported by the home inspection group. Assess Status and Condition of the Collateral Determines if the home has occupancy or is vacant. Takes pictures of collateral and documents status for Account Representative review. Use mobile laptop, cell phone, and digital camera to upload/download pictures. If vacant, identifies next steps (full condition report to assess condition including any damages or securing home if needed by changing locks and partial winterization). Change door locks and winterize homes. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required Experience: Minimum 1-year relevant experience required Must maintain a valid driver's license in good standing in the state residing. Must always maintain insurance with acceptable levels. Must have a clear understanding of collection and repossession procedures. Strong computer skills required to include email. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email, and person to person. Maintain a professional working relationship with all customers and levels of staffing inside the office and in the field. Build a good rapport with local Remarketing Asset Managers in the area. Willingness and ability to complete assigned work efficiently. Capability of gathering facts accurately, analyzing causes, evaluating alternate solutions, and arriving at sound conclusions on action to be taken. Must have excellent communication skills when dealing with customers. Ability to identify and assess account status and determine appropriate processes. Basic understanding of collection and repossession procedures. Great attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management. Good sense of urgency and follow up. Ability to handle stressful situations. Capable of dealing with changes that can and will occur periodically. Ability to manage schedule daily and work with minimal supervision. Bilingual preferred in some areas. Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Will be constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Will be communicating 20% of the time over the phone. Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
