The Sales Representative’s primary role is to grow sales and develop customer relationships in a designated territory. The position involves working with customers to discover their individual needs, develop customized solutions and ensure a smooth sales process.
Responsibilities
Work in the field at least 75% of the time to develop the territory and meet with all categories of customers including dealers, distribution partners, and state Department of Transportation (DOTs) within the assigned region
Attend trade shows, conferences, and regional industry meetings
Daily customer calls and follow-up visits
Build relationships with all levels of the customer base from field personnel to executive level
Ensure a smooth sales process and work towards having Shur-Tite Products items specified in contracts/projects
Perform evaluation/sample installations and provide product support and training for contractors, distributors, and DOT personnel on all products as needed
Work directly with Sales Management Team to make efficient and effective scheduling decisions around travel
Report on his/her sales activities daily including contact information about each location called upon utilizing designated CRM
Qualifications
Extensive technical Shur-Tite product knowledge and practical applications
Workable industry knowledge including what distinguishes Shur-Tite from competitors
Ability to communicate in a clear, professional business manner with all customers, business contacts, and Shur-Tite employees
Knowledge of state specifications and standards in his/her designated region
Ability to meet deadlines and goals
Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with customers
Hands on experience presenting products to customers
Ability to align products and services to meet customer’s needs
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Hours/Shift
Business hours are standard 8:00 am – 5:00 pm in respective time zones.
Traveling hours are variable in response to travel objective
75% travel in the field
Work Environment This position requires travel with expectations determined by specific mentoring, training, customer-related needs, and territory-related needs. Residence within the geographic area of responsibility is preferred but not necessary
