This role is a 1st shift position in the molding department. The individual will be responsible for undertaking various tasks each morning, focusing on repairing molds from plastic injection facilities. Tasks may include making slight changes to new lines, fixing chipped or broken pieces, or correcting molds that were initially incorrect. The individual will follow blueprints and utilize grinders and other tools to redesign molds to specifications. Once modifications are complete, the mold will be tested in a plastic injection machine and then shipped to the customer once it runs correctly. Repair molds coming in from plastic injection facilities. Implement changes to new lines by modifying molds. Fix chipped, broken, or incorrect molds. Follow blueprints to redesign molds using grinders and other tools. Test molds in a plastic injection machine to ensure proper function. Ensure corrected molds are shipped to customers. Essential Skills Experience in mold repair and CNC machining. Proficiency in grinding and mold making. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. 5 years of experience with plastic injection molds, either in repair or making. 5 years of experience using grinding hand tools on plastic injection molds. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of GRAND RAPIDS, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
