King County Department of Executive Services (DES) Fleet Services Division is looking for a Full Time Fiscal Specialist 3 to join our finance team. This position supports all lines of business within the Fleet Division and presents an opportunity to showcase your skills as a lead technical expert in accounts payable, cash receipting, data processing, record keeping, customer service, and teamwork. The Fleet Services Division manages King County's portfolio of vehicles and equipment. The team performs acquisition, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of approximately 3,000 fleet assets for the County's services associated with the Sheriff's Office, Public Health, Roads, Parks, Wastewater, Water and Land Resources, and other agencies. The division manages two maintenance shops which include robust storerooms of automotive parts, materials, and construction supplies as well as several technicians working in the field to support remote customer sites. In addition, the Fleet Division is responsible for the disposition of the county's personal property assets, which includes a surplus warehouse in Georgetown. Disposal methods can include re-use within the county, donation to verified and approved non-profits, and sales through online portals or sealed/negotiated bids. The mission of the Fleet Services Team is providing exceptional customer service in the delivery of equitable, sustainable, and dependable fleet solutions. To be considered for this opportunity, you must demonstrate skill and ability to: Perform financial and numerical calculations; Apply coding of financial accounting and/or fiscal information; Perform transactions in an accurate and timely manner; Receive and disburse funds; Provide excellent customer service; Verify and reconcile data discrepancies; Initiate and welcome two-way communication in-person and over the telephone with suppliers and colleagues; Organize, oversee, establish, track, code and maintain digital and physical accounts payable records; Research and summarize specialized and technical information from varied sources, which requires selecting the most appropriate material and the use of spreadsheets and/or customized database applications; Process incoming mail and documents, attach related correspondence or information before forwarding as appropriate, select mail to handle personally where the response requires specialized knowledge of the assigned function, identify priority and/or time-sensitive matters, and maintain security and confidentiality; Interpret established policies, procedures, codes, regulations and other relevant sources to internal and external customers over the telephone, in writing and in-person; Establish work methods and recommend changes in workload and procedures; Perform other duties as assigned; Work is performed under limited supervision and requires independent judgment; Surplus asset retirements The ideal candidates will: Have a strong background in accounts payable processing; Be experienced in Oracle EBS financial and procurement transactions; Welcome managing and prioritizing a diverse set of financial tasks with a strong attention to detail; Be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and Teams, including skill in performing financial calculations using Microsoft Excel in your daily work; Be eager to learn about King County Fleet functions and processes; Thrive working both independently and working collaboratively as part of a team; Union representation: This position is represented by PROTEC17. Work location: This position works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary onsite location is at King Street Center at 201 S Jackson Street, Seattle, WA 98104. Occasional travel to Fleet offices in Renton and Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood are required. Work schedule: This position will work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
