Overview
Director of Environmental Health & Safety WhiteWater Express Car Wash is seeking an experienced Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to design, implement and lead a company-wide safety program, building upon and strengthening the foundation already in place. This role will drive a safety-first culture across a growing, multi-state organization, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing operational risk, and protecting employees, customers, and company assets. The Director operates with a high level of autonomy, supervising a small team while partnering with Operations and HR leadership to implement proactive safety programs, maintain OSHA and electrical safety compliance, and support safe, efficient operations across all locations. The ideal candidate is a strategic safety leader with deep knowledge of OSHA compliance, electrical safety standards, incident investigation, and multi-site safety program management, with the ability to influence leaders and drive consistent safety practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, lead and execute the company’s environmental health and safety strategy across all locations to ensure safety remains the organization’s top operational priority. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards and reporting requirements. Design, implement, and continuously improve safety training programs, policies, and procedures to reduce workplace risk and prevent incidents. Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and regulatory reporting. Track and analyze safety metrics including Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR), incident rates, and near-miss reporting to identify trends and drive continuous improvement. Provide regular safety and compliance reporting to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Oversee electrical safety programs, including lockout/tagout procedures, hazard identification, and regulatory compliance. Conduct field safety audits and site inspections across multiple states to ensure operational compliance and identify safety improvements. Develop and deliver safety training programs for field leadership and team members. Partner with Operations, HR, and Facilities to identify and mitigate safety risks related to new locations, acquisitions, and operational changes. Supervise and develop safety personnel while establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards. Support loss prevention initiatives and collaborate with HR to manage field safety situations.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance requirements, and safety reporting. Experience managing multi-site safety programs across multiple states. Understanding of electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures. Skilled in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and hazard mitigation. Knowledge of environmental health & safety best practices and safety training development. Ability to analyze safety data and implement proactive risk reduction strategies. Strong leadership, communication, and training facilitation skills. Ability to influence operational leaders and drive safety accountability. Proficiency with safety reporting systems and Microsoft Office. Loss prevention experience is a plus.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field 10+ years of progressive safety leadership experience 5+ years managing safety programs across multiple locations or states
Preferred Certifications
CSP – Certified Safety Professional ASP – Associate Safety Professional CHST – Construction Health & Safety Technician (or similar certification) OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent advanced OSHA training
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
