Benzie Youth String Program is hiring: Music Director in Frankfort

Title: Program Director/Instructor of Youth String Program

Duties: Provide high-quality string instrument education and performance opportunities to the youth of Benzie County. Oversee the operations, development, and the success of the Benzie Youth String Program, a new program initially involving 3rd to 5th grade students in Benzie County, Michigan. Plans for instruction and eventual string orchestra creation for older students are  being made. The job requires the responsibility of ensuring the program aligns with BYSP mission to foster musical excellence, personal growth, and community engagement through accessible music education.  The program is designed to offer violins and lessons free to students.  In addition to directing the program, the individual will have ample opportunity to give lessons with competitive fees. 

Requirements: Master’s of Music, Arts Administration, Education, or related. Strong knowledge and competency of string instruments and music pedagogy. Experience working with youth in string education.

Location: Benzie county, Michigan

Salary: $40,000 per 10-month academic year, plus competitive fees for private and group children instruction

Salary/Compensation: $40,000 per year
