About the Role

The Publisher serves as the senior leader responsible for overall strategic direction, financial performance, audience growth, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will combine strong business acumen with a deep appreciation for local news and its impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for print and digital operations

• Drive revenue growth across advertising, subscriptions, and new media platforms

• Foster a culture of journalistic excellence and innovation

• Build strong relationships with community leaders, businesses, and organizations

• Lead and mentor department heads across editorial, sales, production, and operations

• Champion digital transformation and audience expansion initiatives

• Ensure financial sustainability and operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Proven executive leadership experience in media, publishing, or a related industry

• Strong background in revenue development and business management

• Understanding of digital media trends and audience engagement strategies

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Commitment to ethical journalism and community service

• Relevant education, professional training, or equivalent leadership experience

Location

Annual Salary: $100,000-$110,000
