GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Director of Institutional Analytics and Strategic Effectiveness is a key leader responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive institutional analytics framework that supports evidence-based decision-making, strategic planning, and continuous improvement. This role emphasizes data-driven insights, predictive modeling, and the creation of dashboards to inform institutional strategy, enhance student success, and ensure accountability.
Reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer/Provost, the Director serves as a strategic partner to academic and administrative leaders, facilitating the alignment of institutional goals with actionable data insights. This position plays a critical role in promoting a culture of data literacy and institutional effectiveness across the campus.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Institutional Analytics and Predictive Modeling
- Develop and implement predictive models to support student retention, persistence, and success.
- Analyze enrollment trends, graduation rates, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform institutional strategy.
- Provide insights into student outcomes by leveraging tools such as statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization software.
- Collaborate with departments to use predictive analytics for targeted interventions and resource allocation.
Data Visualization and Dashboards
- Design and maintain interactive dashboards that provide real-time access to institutional data.
- Develop clear, actionable data presentations for campus leaders to support decision-making.
- Translate complex data into user-friendly formats for non-technical audiences, including faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees.
- Monitor and communicate trends in institutional data to inform planning and continuous improvement efforts.
Institutional Research and Reporting
- Oversee the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of institutional data to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and accrediting body requirements.
- Prepare reports on institutional performance, including retention, graduation, and achievement outcomes.
- Support accreditation processes by providing data and documentation that demonstrate institutional compliance and effectiveness.
Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness
- Facilitate the integration of data analytics into the strategic planning process to ensure alignment with institutional goals and priorities.
- Lead the monitoring and evaluation of progress toward achieving the goals outlined in the College’s Strategic Plan.
- Develop frameworks for assessing institutional effectiveness at the program, department, and institutional levels.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of assessment calendars, templates, and reporting structures.
Collaboration and Campus-Wide Engagement
- Serve as a resource to faculty, staff, and administrators by providing training and support in data literacy and assessment methodologies.
- Facilitate workshops, Data Days, and institutional reviews to promote a culture of data-informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with Enrollment Management, Student Success, and academic units to align data initiatives with institutional priorities.
Compliance and Accreditation Support
- Coordinate reporting efforts to ensure compliance with accrediting bodies, federal, and state regulations.
- Prepare data and documentation to support self-studies, reaffirmation efforts, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate the use of data to support institutional accountability and mission fulfillment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Institutional Research, Higher Education Administration, or a related field with significant professional experience (Doctorate preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in institutional research, data analytics, or assessment in a higher education environment.
- Expertise in data analysis, predictive modeling, and creating dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for decision-making.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Doctorate in a related field is preferred.
- Experience working in a private or faith-based institution or an HBCU.
- Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., SONIS, Colleague, Banner) and database management systems.
- Experience developing and implementing predictive analytics models for student success.
- Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) metrics and their application in institutional planning.
