The Role\nComity is looking for an

Executive Director, Head of Originations

to lead the commercial scaling of our insurance-based collateral solution across PPAs, battery tolling structures, interconnection agreements, and other structured renewable energy contracts.

You will own originations end-to-end: refining commercial strategy, sourcing and structuring transactions, and channeling market insight into our underwriting and technology platform.

In this role, you will:

Originate and structure:

Proactively source high-quality counterparties across IPPs, utilities, traders, corporates, and data centers. Lead transaction structuring in close collaboration with our credit team, ensuring rigorous analysis of contractual risk allocation, downside scenarios, and structural protections.

Refine and expand our commercial strategy:

Continuously sharpen our positioning versus traditional collateral solutions. Leverage your network and market judgment to build repeatable origination channels and deepen strategic relationships.

Guide the evolution of our platform:

Act as a core user of our underwriting and origination systems, engaging with engineering to translate market realities and transaction complexity into scalable workflows and AI-powered risk tools that increase our speed, precision, and volume.

As a key leader, you will help build the financial rails of our future energy systems.

Position Summary\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented

Asset Management Analyst

to support the financial, operational, and strategic oversight of Deriva Energy's energy asset portfolio. This role will play a critical part in optimizing asset performance, analyzing portfolio data, and supporting cross-functional teams with insights that drive business value.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Monitoring

Track and report on asset-level performance (production, efficiency, downtime, etc.)

Compare actuals to budget/forecast and identify variances

Develop and maintain KPIs to evaluate asset health and performance

Financial Analysis & Reporting

Assist in preparation of monthly/quarterly asset performance reports

Support budget development and long-term financial forecasting

Analyze cost structures, O&M contracts, and revenue streams (e.g., PPA, merchant market)

Data & Systems Management

Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset data in internal systems

Develop dashboards and reports for stakeholders using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools

Cross-Functional Support

Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to resolve asset-level issues

Participate in technical and financial due diligence for new projects or acquisitions

Provide analytical support for contract negotiations and regulatory compliance

Risk & Compliance

Monitor regulatory, market, and operational risks impacting asset performance

Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and contractual obligations

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Business, or related field

1 year or more of experience in asset management, energy operations, financial analysis, or related roles

Desired Qualifications

Three (3) years or more of experience in asset management, energy operations, financial analysis, or related roles

Experience with energy asset management platforms or monitoring software (e.g., Power Factors, PI System)

Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, battery storage)

Working knowledge of ISO/RTO markets (ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, etc.)

Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) a plus

Understanding of energy markets, PPA structures, and asset performance metrics preferred

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate cross-functionally

This position is located in Charlotte, NC

This is an in-office position with opportunity to work remotely once per week; employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated office location

Your Impact as a Senior Counsel – Commercial

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will serve as a key member of the legal team to support primarily the commercial and EPC efforts of the company.

Your Mission

Draft, negotiate, and analyze a broad range of commercial contracts, including EPC and EEQ Agreements, LTSAs, Offtake Agreements, Software Agreements, procurement and supplier MSAs, lease agreements, PPAs, consultant agreements, and other origination‑related contracts.
Support project development and acquisition activities by preparing and negotiating interconnection agreements, land and lease agreements, MIPAs, Joint Development Agreements, and Development Services Agreements.
Support project finance activities by drafting and negotiating financing, tax, and ITC agreements.
Structure, draft, review, and negotiate a variety of other/related commercial agreements.
Help to develop form files for repeat transaction types.
Advise business teams regarding issues that arise during construction, including change orders, waivers and force majeure notices, and after construction, including warranty claims, as necessary.
Provide timely and efficient commercial legal guidance on a broad range of business topics, including general corporate matters, intellectual property, commercial law, UCC, dispute resolution, commercial liability, and risk assessment.
Support M&A activities through due diligence and negotiation.
Manage and partner with a portfolio of external subject‑matter expert legal advisors.
Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment on commercial strategy, risk mitigation, and deal execution.

Your Background

JD from an accredited law school.
Member of a state bar in good standing.
6+ years’ total work experience after law school.
3+ years’ experience with EPC contract drafting and negotiations.
2+ years’ experience in power generation, renewables, and/or energy storage.
Past experiences that demonstrate the ability to handle multiple legal matters successfully and efficiently in various legal areas.
Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze complex legal matters, to concisely summarize significant legal concerns, and to communicate those concerns effectively to businesspeople.
Direct experience with assessing the level of legal and business risk in developing and communicating alternatives.
