Role Description

The Director, HRBP occupies a pivotal role within the Global Supply Chain organization, serving as an advisor, strategic thought partner, and catalyst for organizational advancement. This position collaborates with executive and senior leadership to push progress across initiatives and departments, ensuring alignment with corporate and warehouse operations objectives. The Director fosters cross-functional collaboration between People, Finance & Accounting, and Legal teams, driving collective problem-solving and future-oriented planning.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies in organizational design, change management, talent management, leadership development, and the retention of high-performing top talent to support positive business outcomes. The Director leads a team of HR professionals within the Global Supply Chain organization while mentoring colleagues across the People team and contributing to its broader objectives and OKRs.

Candidates for this role must have experience in global supply chain corporate and warehouse environments, and demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic setting. The Director aligns business unit priorities with People strategies to plan, develop, and implement essential organizational capabilities.

This role reports to the Sr Director, People Strategy & Operations.

What you’ll do

  • Within the first six months, work on projects focused on organizational expansion and effectiveness, warehouse operations and labor management, change management, leadership development, and high-performer retention strategies, HR metrics utilization, international/global effectiveness, and HR operations optimization.
  • Cultivate Relationships & Build Trust: establish meaningful connections with senior leadership, offering strategic recommendations to align OKRs with people plans and capabilities.
  • Collaborates, Plans, & Aligns on Strategy: assess and build the strategy for ShipBob’s Global Supply Chain People objectives with senior leadership and COEs.
  • Manage Ambiguity & Problem Solves: identify and address corporate, warehouse, and global workforce challenges using data, research, and analysis to develop innovative solutions.
  • Business Acumen: stay aware of designated business units OKRs and contribute to outcomes through analysis and curiosity.
  • Organizational Analysis & Design: partner with senior leadership to create workforce plans and organizational design, identifying human capital needs and advising on root causes.
  • Change Management: oversee change management efforts, guiding communication and engagement strategies.
  • Talent Management: lead talent planning, succession, performance management, and retention efforts to enable long-term business continuity.
  • Data & Story Telling: use HR data and metrics to generate insights and inform senior leadership decisions.
  • Creative Problem Solver: bring design thinking and collaboration to develop solutions.
  • Investigates & Mitigates Risk: support investigations with intervention or resolution where necessary.
  • Develops Talent: coach and develop direct reports to build high-performance teams.
  • Builds Effective Teams: ensure the effectiveness and outcomes of the Global Supply Chain People Strategy & Operations team.
  • Other duties as necessary.

What you’ll bring to the table

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of experience, with a focus in HRBP; HR leadership and people management; supply chain and warehouse operations; experience with startups and established mid-to-large companies; global exposure; experience with temporary labor staffing and international EORs; experience opening/relocating warehouse sites; comfortable with fast-paced environments.
  • Advanced ability using HR technology to deliver service and provide metrics and insights.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and contributing to complex strategy discussions with confidence and humility.

Compensation : ShipBob believes in transparency and a competitive total compensation package. Salary range target for this role is $205,000–$210,000 with a broader base pay range of $155,496–$259,160. Eligible for discretionary bonus based on company plans and policies.
