Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide interim leadership for a hospital pharmacy in Ohio. This role is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting clinical pharmacy services across multiple departments including Emergency Department, Infusion, and Orthopedics. The Director will provide both operational oversight and staffing support while maintaining safe and effective medication management practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and provide leadership for daily pharmacy operations.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and operational workflows for pharmacy personnel.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards .
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff including 1 full-time pharmacist and 2 PRN pharmacists , as well as pharmacy technicians.
• Review and verify medication orders and ensure safe dispensing practices.
• Participate in sterile compounding and IV preparation oversight .
• Manage controlled substance ordering and inventory .
• Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with clinical teams across the hospital.
• Provide on‑call support when the pharmacy is closed (typically 1–2 calls per week).
• Support pharmacy services for specialty areas including Emergency Department (ED), Infusion, and Orthopedics .
